Aaron will play as Enchong's brother, whom Erich will be much closed to. Their closeness will soon draw jealousy from Enchong, leading to an unsettling marriage.
"I'm so happy na kasama ako dito. So surprising kasi biglaan lang na tinawagan ako and will be playing the role of Vladimir," Aaron said.
According to the actor, it's his first time to do straight drama and portray a dark character on television, which he liked.
"I'm looking forward to it and kailangan galingan at paghandaan kasi second time ko na itong makatrabaho si Erich and Enchong eh," he said. "May pagka-dark side yung character ko na talagang serious drama kaya medyo exciting and sobrang happy kasi si Direk Rory (Quinto) ang kasama namin."
Aaron added that at first, he had a hard time portraying the role because he hasn't seen the original version played by Mexican actor Hector Soberon.
But with the support and help of the production team, his co-stars and especially their director, Aaron believes he's getting the grip already.
"Sobrang strikto talaga niya (Quinto). Dapat laging on-time ka sa set, alam mo yung lines, yung blocking mo eh tama, which I really like. Sobrang ina-idolize ko siya and talagang work kung work," he said.
As of Sunday, Aaron said they haven't yet felt any pressure in starring the much-loved telenovela originally played by Mexico's best actors Thalia and Fernando Colunga. But he promised that the audience will be treated to something old and new in the series.
"Maria la del Barrio" is expected to grace Philippine primetime block this month.
